The mission of Science Olympiad is to “To promote and improve student interest in science and to improve the quality of k-12 science education throughout the nation.” The Mountainside Science Olympiad team meets weekly after school to prepare for competition in local, regional, and state tournaments. Students complete in a variety of challenging events based in biology, earth and space science, chemistry, physics, and technology.

Students (and teams) are welcome to practice/prepare for individual events daily before school or after school by appointment. Official team practices will be held weekly (listed below) on Monday or Tuesday and the entire week before a major competition from 2:50 - 3:50.

There's Still Time to Join!!!
There is still time to join the Mountainside Science Olympiad team!!! The club is open to all MMS 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. We meet weekly after school to prepare for competition in local, regional, and state tournaments. Students complete in a variety of challenging events based in biology, earth and space science, chemistry, physics, and technology. Our meeting schedule is flexible, all are able to participate regardless of other sports and/or personal commitments! Applications can be found online, in the office, or picked up from Mrs. Marsh or Mr. Reinhart. Hurry, our first Competition is October 29!!!
